Matthew is a clinical and laboratory haematologist with subspecialty expertise in malignant haematology, particularly multiple myeloma and lymphoma. He also has extensive experience in the assessment and management of venous thrombosis.
He holds public appointments at Northern Health and Eastern Health, and is an investigator on clinical trials of novel therapies, including CAR-T cell therapy, at Epworth Health and Northern Health. As lead haematologist for the Virtual Specialist Clinics, he provides e-consults and telehealth support to GPs in rural areas, giving him considerable experience delivering specialist care remotely.
